I wasn’t really expecting much, but it did show up on time. So yeah, I’ve got to admit the shipping was quick.

I ended up getting the help I needed, so that was good, but it definitely wasn’t the fastest experience. I had to follow up twice before they got back to me, which was a little annoying since I was checking my email on and off all day while trying to get other stuff done. Once they did respond, they were helpful enough and answered my question, so I can’t really complain too much. Just wish it had been quicker.

In my experience, this takes way too long to turn on and pair. Once it finally connects it’s fine, but the wait every time gets frustrating quickly

The audio is actually good, like calls come through clearly and music sounds decent enough, so I don’t really have complaints there. The video is fine most of the time too, but every now and then it’ll lag a bit or look kind of soft, which is a little annoying because I guess I expected it to be smoother for the price. It’s not awful or anything, just one of those things where you notice it and think, hmm, this could be better.

I judged it fast after the first drive. The wireless connection kicked in and just stayed connected the whole time. I’ve used it on every drive since, and it works every time.

I bought the ottocast thinking it would make using CarPlay in my 2018 Mazda easier, but it ended up being way more stressful than I expected. It connected the first time, so I thought I was good, but after that it kept dropping out or just wouldn’t show up at all.

I reached out to support and they told me to update it, which I did, but nothing really changed. Same random connection issues, same guessing game every time I got in the car. I just wanted something simple, not another tech problem to deal with before driving.

Maybe it works better with other cars, but it definitely didn’t play nice with mine. I wish the compatibility info had been clearer before I bought it. It’s not completely useless, but for the price, it was frustrating.

Getting this set up was painless. I just plugged it in, waited for it to do its thing, and followed the prompts on the screen. Took around 10 minutes, maybe a little less, so... yeah, not much hassle at all.

I’m giving it 4 stars because the first connection took longer than I expected, and I did have to restart it once. But after that, it worked fine and I haven’t really had any issues since, so..

I updated the firmware and everything is working fine now. The whole process was easy, and any issues felt totally avoidable if you just follow the steps

The menus just kind of freeze up, and then my taps respond a second later... it gets old really fast. I don’t know, it just makes using the device feel more annoying than it should every single time...
